Investor's Business Daily - The Mortgage Bankers Association's index fell 4.6% in the week ended May 23 to 593.3, the lowest in a month. Refinancing applications fell 8.9% to 2,103.5, while the purchase index ticked up 0.2 point 15 352.7. Fixed 30-year mortgage rates rose 6 basis points to 5.96% last week. One-year adjustable-rate mortgages jumped 21 ticks to 6.92%.
