Investor's Business Daily - New York Fed President Timothy Geithner called for a stronger framework for the worldwide financial system. He wants to "streamline" the U.S. regulatory setup, giving the central bank more authority. He favors tougher capital and liquidity for the "largest institutions." But he stopped short of calling for imposing capital rules for hedge funds or private equity firms. Geithner said he was going to meet with 17 firms representing 90% of the credit derivatives trading market later Mon.
