Perfect Corn on the Cob

Corn
American<BR/>Side Dish   Spring   Summer   Kid Friendly   Low Fat   American   Corn  

4 ears Fresh <a href="http://www.bigoven.com/whatis.aspx?id=Corn" class="deflink">corn</a>
1 large -- Equipment: <a href="http://www.bigoven.com/whatis.aspx?id=Stock" class="deflink">Stock</a> pot --
  Water
 -- Optional Toppings --
  <a href="http://www.bigoven.com/whatis.aspx?id=Salt" class="deflink">Salt</a>
  <a href="http://www.bigoven.com/whatis.aspx?id=Butter" class="deflink">Butter</a>

Husk corn, being sure to remove all strands.  

Bring to boil an ample amount of water in a stock pot.  Add corn, turn down to medium and make sure cover allows venting to prevent boil-over.

Boil for approximately 5-6 minutes.  Take out of the water and serve hot.
