Samsung makes $6 billion offer for SanDisk
      

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co Ltd , the world's biggest maker of memory chips, went public on Tuesday with its proposal to buy SanDisk Corp  for nearly $6 billion in cash, after months of private negotiations failed to produce a deal.
