Elizabeth Báthory – The Countess of Blood: From My "Regal Twelve" Art Series
      

A Countess in Transylvania, Elizabeth Báthory (1560-1614), was known as the "Countess of Blood" and is considered the most famous serial killer in Slovak and Hungarian history.  

She's a macabre but fascinating subject, one of the 12 women represented in my "Regal Twelve" series of digitally montaged artwork, combining fashion and history with modern conceptions of beauty.

She's a subject worthy of remembering on Halloween, and she's credited along with her relative, Vlad the Impaler, as the two historical figures upon which Bram Stoker's Count Dracula is based.
