Isabella of Spain - The Catholic: From My "Regal Twelve" Art Series
      

Isabella I of Spain, also known as "Isabella the Catholic," died this day in 1504.  

Born into the royal family of Castile in 1451, her eventual marriage to Ferdinand of Aragon helped unite Spain and bring it into the Golden Age of exploration and colonisation, creating a wealthy nation and the first modern world power.
