Xstrata confirms takeover talks with Vale collapse

Reuters - Anglo-Swiss mining group Xstrata  
confirmed on Tuesday that long-running takeover talks with
suitor Vale (VALE5.SA) of Brazil had ended after the two sides
failed to reach a deal.
