Investor's Business Daily - Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said the economic stimulus program will put $168 bil into consumers' pockets this year and next, adding that the checks should be a big part of adding 500,000-600,000 jobs. About 130 mil Americans are eligible for tax rebate checks of up to $600 for individuals and $1,200 for couples. The first checks will be sent out in early May, and only people who file returns are eligible. Paulson said the IRS will keep 320 offices open on Saturday to urge millions who don't normally file a tax return to do so.
