Sebastien Bourdais survived an error-strewn qualifying session to take provisional pole position for round 11 of the ChampCar World Series at Montreal in Canada. Frenchman Bourdais was more than 0.3 seconds ahead of Spaniard Oriol Servia. His main title rival AJ Allmendinger had turbo trouble.
