Lehman sees banks, others writing down $400 billion

Reuters - Lehman Brothers Inc strategists expect
financial institutions worldwide to write down as much as $400
billion for bad debts by the end of 2008, and said competing
estimates of as much as $1.2 trillion seem implausible.
