            Here is the list of the top 10 best mainstream rappers, using a 1-5 scale of judgment on Flow, Lyrics, Record Sales, and Message.  In order to judge rappers effectively, one must judge all aspects of hip hop music, not just one single subject.  For instance, the debate of "best lyricist" will constantly switch from Nas to Rakim, Eminem to Big Pun.
However with this system, I can judge all of these rappers in all 4 categories, and see which one comes out on top.

Flow  =  the way the MC sounds, or rides over the beat.  Is it smooth?  Is it believable?

Lyrics  =  obviously, the lyrical content of an MC's music.  What assonance and alliteration, metaphors, or ironies are used?

Record Sales  =  not very important to me, or other true fans, but in the Mainstream scene, money means alot.  Average is based upon average rappers' sales.

Message  =  what are these people saying?  Do they talk about the same things over and over again?  Do they reach a new level of depth?  Can they change your life with their words?
