High petrol prices might be a bummer for motorists but they've brought down the country's greenhouse gas emissions.
Overall,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, the country's emissions fell by a tiny 0.1 per cent compared with the summer before.
The data is incomplete - it only measures emissions from coal, gas and petrol, which make up well over half of total emissions. The data only takes in Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
The data, to be released on Monday,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, was collated by the Climate Group, a UK-based research and lobbying organisation.

The Climate Group's Australian director Rupert Posner was not very impressed.
The Climate Group's data shows emissions have plateaued.
But the federal government's comprehensive emissions data tends to be at least a year old, so the Climate Group's data is the best indication there is of recent trends.
Australians used more electricity than last summer so emissions from coal grew by two per cent. Victoria's brown coal-fired power stations have been blamed.
Australia's emissions have been growing for years,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, but this summer they came down just a little.
The reason for that was higher petrol prices,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, which cut sales and pushed down emissions from petrol by four per cent.
However the green credit from using less petrol was almost completely wiped out by burning more coal.
"These increases in coal emissions come at a time when we need the exact opposite to be happening," Mr Posner said.
There has been speculation the economic crisis will bring down Australia's emissions,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, but that remains to be seen.
