Bradford pear trees are ornamental, but can produce small, inedible fruit under the right circumstances. Planted mainly for their showy spring blossoms and fall foliage, the Bradford pear can also be a problem. Its wood is soft and prone to storm damage, and Bradford pears seldom live more than 20 years. The good news is that they are shallow-rooting,You are not allowed to view links. Pry the tree out of the hole as gently as you can. If you meet major resistance, dig deeper. If you still can't get it out,You are not allowed to view links. Place it in the wheelbarrow and move it quickly to the new site.
Adjust the tree if it isn't sitting straight. Fill the sides of the hole with dirt, pressing it in firmly to eliminate air spaces around the roots. Pour the rest of the water around the base of the tree. Cart the remaining soil back to the original hole and fill it.
Dig the transplant hole, using a shovel. Make the hole 3 feet deep and large enough to accommodate the tree's root ball.

Pull a measuring tape along the ground from the trunk of the Bradford pear to the farthest reach of the lowest side branch. Double this measurement for the diameter of the circle to dig around the tree.

Fill a bucket with water and pour half of it into the transplant hole, to help reduce shock to the root system.  Lift the tree out of the wheelbarrow and set it in the hole. If the base of the trunk sits below the ground line, lift it out and backfill until the base of the tree sits slightly above the ground line,You are not allowed to view links. Transplant the Bradford pear in the early fall, when the tree is dormant and the ground is not yet frozen. This will reduce stress on the tree because it won't try to produce flowers or fruit at that time. The roots will also have some time to establish before the ground gets too cold.
Dig in your measured circle. Point the shovel tip at a 45-degree angle toward the center of the trunk on all sides. You'll have to cut some of the side roots and part of the main root, but the idea is to get as much of them as you can.
