Setting and Keeping Goals
Setting and Keeping Goals
Without a goal in life you are like a ship without a sail. You are at the mercy of the winds and whims of other people. You won't have a sense of accomplishment because you won't get anywhere. Please don't make the mistake that robbed me for so much of my life. Set goals, decide where you want to be, and do what you need to do in order to
get there. I made the mistake for so long of not setting goals with timelines to them. What happened to me was that I had good intention but no direction. The result was that I didn’t really accomplish anything although I worked harder than 99 percent of people do. This led to disaster after disaster,You are not allowed to view links. You must first make a decision. Time is not on your side so you need to make a decision and stick to it. Once you have decided don't let anything change your mind. Give yourself thirty days. At the end of that time make your decision. Once you make it stick to it! You have to get moving now! Time and life will crush you if you let them. Time has no sympathy for you, me,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, or anyone else.
You then need to break your goals down according to a timeline. Look at how long that you have to get where you need to go. You have to do whatever it takes to stay inside
of your timeline. Don't get in the habit of not accomplishing assigned tasks on time. Get them done no matter what. Do your daily tasks. You don’t need to give yourself a zillion things to do each day. Be realistic,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, you are not superman. You are you. Be yourself but be consistent. You may not run all of the time but keep moving.
Break your tasks down into yearly, monthly, weekly, or daily tasks. Schedule all of your monthly tasks for completion by the 15th of the month and don’t let anything stop you. After the 15th you can relax just a little bit. Now if you have anything that for whatever reason was not done you can do it and be finished before the end of the month. This way you are not scrambling around at the last minute.
Plan backwards,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, in other words if you have a scheduled task for the end of the year start with the 11th month. Know exactly what you need to have done by that time. Do this for each month. The practice of backwards planning was a concept taught in the armed forces and believe it or not it helps.
Finally, don't make excuses. Do what you need to do each time. Please don't make the same mistakes that I did in regards to setting and meeting your goals.
