San Francisco Giants Tickets - Opening Day Winners And Losers
Sometimes opening day can say a lot about how the season will turn out. Last season the Giants started off the year in Dodger Stadium, losing 5-0 to the eventual National League West champion LA Dodger, their fiercest rivals.  The Giants' Barry Zito gave up three runs in the first inning and they never got back into the game, because the offense delivered a grand total of five hits. The rest of the season was similar, at least offensively. However, this year things were much different coming out of the gates.  The Giants scored plenty of runs and got a win at home. Will this win signal good things to come all summer long? First let's check out how the Giants got a W in their home opener.
Winners:
The Giants offense in general: The Giants were the second to last team in the majors when it came to scoring runs last year, but you wouldn't have guessed it by the way they were swinging the bat on Tuesday, April 7th, 2009, the day of the home opener.  Fans who got San Francisco Giants tickets were witness to a 10-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Even though the Giants started out the game in the hole because of some bad pitching, they were able to swing their way out of it,You are not allowed to view links. With the exception of Emanuel Burris, every Giants starter got a hit- even Tim Lincecum.
Aaron Rowand: Perhaps the brightest shining star of the Giants' offense on opening day was Aaron Rowand, who went 2-3 with 3 RBI, at home run and a double.  Last year Rowand was one of the most consistent hitters for the team, and he might be this year as well. Will he move up to the three spot in the lineup?
Travis Ishikawa: Helping Rowan out near the back of the order was rookie Travis Ishikawa,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, called up from the minors for 33 games last season. Trav-Ish went 2-5 with 3 RBI and a triple. We all hope this guy can stay hot.
Mike Cameron: The Brewers scored six runs of their own accord,You are not allowed to view links. Losers:
Jeff Suppan: While more was expected of Lincecum, Jeff Suppan actually had the worse game, as he earned the first loss of his year. In four innings he allowed six hits, six runs, a home run, a walk and only get one strikeout.
Tim Lincecum: Tiny Tim joined CC Sabathia and Cliff Lee as opening day starting duds. Lincecum managed to strikeout five batters in three innings, which was nice, but still allowed three runs and walked three batters. Despite the slow start we still think StubHub will see an increase in traffic for every game where he's slated to start.
