Known as The Plant List, the creation of the database represents an important step forward in plant conservation. Here, in response to questions posed by Britannica science editor Kara Rogers, Peter Wyse Jackson, president of the Missouri Botanical Garden, and Robert Magill, senior vice president of science and conservation at the Missouri garden, discuss the background and implications of The Plant List.
