Herceptin Linked to Heart Problems in Older Women

Herceptin, a drug used to treat a form of breast cancer, is linked to increased rates of congestive heart failure among women age 66 and older. Daily RX reported on Oct. 23 that the SEER database was used to collect data for this study. It is well known that Herceptin has cardio-toxicity issues. That is why my oncologist monitored my heart with MUGA scans every three months while I was receiving treatment.
