During an interview with the publications automotive section chief engineer, Tetsuya Tada reportedly alluded that the car may be getting a performance boost via turbocharging, a displacement increase or possibly some manner of hybrid integration. As far as timeline, it seems that a mid-cycle update in 2015 makes the most sense. Tada wasn't done dropping dimes as the report goes on to hint that a replacement or successor to the GT86/FR-S may be in the works. Furthermore, it may NOT sport a boxer engine. Could this signal the end of the Toyota/Subaru partnership on the car?
a
Photo Gallery: Scion FR-S Performance Boost - Super Street Magazine
