Locking the keypad

You can lock the keypad to avoid dialing a number by accident.

Manual keylock

To manually lock the keypad, perform the following steps:

1.    Press and hold the c key.

2.    Scroll down and press the joystick to select Lock Keypad.

Automatic keylock

Automatic keylock means the keypad is locked 25 seconds after you last press a key.

To turn automatic keylock on or off, perform the following steps:

1.    Press the joystick to access the Menu.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Settings.

3.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Locks.

4.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Autolock.

5.    Select On or Off, and then press the joystick to accept the change.

Unlocking the keypad

The keys will remain locked until you answer an incoming call or until you unlock the keypad manually.

To unlock the keypad, press the c key, and then press the Yes key when Turn off keylock? appears on the screen.

Storing a phone number

To store a phone number, perform the following steps:

1.    Press the joystick to access the Menu.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Phone book.

3.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Add Contact.

4.    Type all the necessary information, such as name, number, type, and other information. To save the new contact, scroll down to Save and Exit, and then press the Yes key.

Adding a picture to a phone book contact

To add a picture to a phone book contact, perform the following steps:

1.    Press the joystick to access the Menu.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Phone book.

3.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Pictures.

4.    Enter the first letters of the contact, and then press the Yes key.

NOTE: You must first store a contact on the phone before you can add a picture to the contact.

5.    When the contact is highlighted, press the Yes key. The My Pictures menu appears.

6.    Select a picture from the menu, and then press the Yes key.

7.    To accept the selected image for your contact, press the Yes key.

Sending a text message

To send a text message, perform the following steps:

1.    Press the joystick to access the Menu.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Messages.

3.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Text.

4.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Write New.

5.    Type your message. When complete, press the joystick to type the number.

6.    Type the phone number.

NOTE: To access the Phone Book, press the key

7.    Press the Yes key when complete.

8.    Verify the message and number. To send the message, scroll to Send, and then press the Yes key.

Choosing a text mode

To choose a text mode, perform the following steps:

1.    When typing text, press while in the text screen.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Input Method.

3.    Choose the entry method (T9 or Multitap), and then press the joystick.

    * T9 provides a predictive text entry method that lets you type the letters of a word using only one keypress per letter.
    * Multitap types characters one at a time by pressing the key for the letter, number, or symbol.

NOTE: To insert symbols or characters, press the key, and then select Add Symbol.

Accessing t-zones

To access t-zones, perform the following steps:

1.    At the main screen, press the key.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select t-zones.

Typing a URL

To type a URL, perform the following steps:

1.    At the main screen, press the key.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select t-zones.

3.    To access the Browser menu, press the key.

4.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select Enter address.

5.    Select New Address, and then press the Yes key.

6.    Type the URL, and then press the Yes key.

Typing a bookmark

To type a bookmark, perform the following steps:

1.    At the main screen, press the key.

2.    Scroll to and press the joystick to select t-zones.

3.    Scroll to My Settings, and then press the Select key.

4.    Scroll to Bookmarks, and then press the Select key.

5.    Scroll to Options, and then press the Select key.

6.    To add a link to your Bookmark menu in t-zones, scroll to Add Bookmark, and then press the Select key. To add a folder to your Bookmark menu in t-zones, scroll to Add Folder, and then press the Select key.
