2014 week 10 in review: the news that you might have missed

Not to be left out, Samsung's own S5 flagship has also had several of its features detailed prior to its official availability.



Let's take a look at all of the mobile news you may have missed in this tenth week of 2014.



KitKat updates were seeded out to two different high profile devices from different manufacturers on the same day. Both the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and the HTC Butterfly S were updated to Android 4.4 KitKat early this week.



The upcoming All New One flagship from HTC is right around the corner for its anticipated March 25 announcement, and the device continues to get leaked left and right. Some high-res photos of the device have appeared, a Verizon-branded version popped up, detailed specs, a video, as well as our exclusive report on its dual-camera setup.



The new Nokia X Android device went on sale in India for INR 8,600 ($140). The two other members of the X family, the X+ and XL will also arrive soon.



While Canadian manufacturer BlackBerry continues to struggle, there's use found for the devices in various government capacities. Secusmart GmbH lets you nab a BlackBerry Z10 coupled with a microSD card loaded with the company's proprietary software that offers wide range of encryption and security features.



Apple iOS 7.1 has started seeding to the latest iDevices from the Cupertino manufacturer, and it arrives with the new CarPlay feature that enables your device to work in your car and perform a wide range of navigation and voice/audio features.



We got a glimpse of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship's ISOCELL camera in detail, complete with a video showing off the more advanced features bundled with the advanced camera. Also, rumors of a more robust S5 model coming later this year were quenched by Samsung CEO J.K. Shin. Alas, metal-clad S5, there's always next year.



Finally, Microsoft is allegedly planning to waive the licensing fees for its Windows Phone OS in India, which will hopefully give it a stronger presence in Asia through a partnership with emerging Indian manufacturers like Karbonn and...</p>
