MediaTek exhibits its MT6595 chipset with integrated LTE

Back at its unveiling, MediaTek did not reveal much of the details of its MT6595 silicon, but we now know what exactly it is made up of. The MT6595 is built up on the big.LITTLE architecture and features integrated LTE support.



MediaTek's latest SoC has four Cortex A17 cores firing at 2.2 GHz and four Cortex A7 cores at 1.7 GHz. The graphics processing unit in charge is the PowerVR G6200 that is capable of handling 4K2K video playback and recording. The chip also has the ability to support 20 megapixel camera.

The inbuilt modem that comes with the MT6595 is probably the most interesting bit of this chip. According to the company, the silicon can handle TD-LTE/FDD-LTE/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/GSM networks without any hassle.
