The images allow us to catch a glimpse of the front and the back of the much talked about metal-clad handset.

As you can see in the photo above, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime looks noticeably more upmarket than its regular sibling. It has ditched the chromed plastic frame for sleek-looking matte metal setup.

The newcomer also has its loudspeaker placed on the bottom. The loudspeaker of the G900 is located on its back.

The live photo of the device's front reveals the already confirmed 5.2" QHD display. The latter will take on the 5.5" QHD units of the LG G3 and Oppo Find 7.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime is tipped to debut next month (Samsung's June 12 event in NYC is likely) with $880 price tag. Rumored specs of the device include Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC and 3GB of RAM.

Update: A couple of tweets from Faryaab Sheikh, who has been correct about Samsung related rumors on many occasions in the past confirm that this is in fact a real device. However, it's not going to be a member of the Galaxy S lineup, but a lower-standing smartphone - allegedly called Galaxy Alpha.

Just got confirmation from a source, the device leaked by @phonearena is real and definitely exists. http://t.co/KQFwMBK3l5— Faryaab Sheikh (@Faryaab) May 18, 2014

However, the device might not be a member of the Galaxy S family. I'm not 100% sure, but this might actually be the GALAXY Alpha.— Faryaab Sheikh (@Faryaab) May 18, 2014
