Do you not know what that is? If so, don't feel bad, because Kyocera just made up the word, which means, "the fear of fragile phones" to market it's new Hydro Life Android smartphone.

The Hydro Life is IP57-certified which allows it to stay in water for up to 30 minutes (just don't submerge it deeper than 3.28 feet). It also qualifies for Military Standard 810G specifications, so it'll be safeguarded against shocks incurred from dropping the handset.

The Hydro Life might be protected, but what about its other hardware specs? On the screen side, it's packing a 4.5" 540 x 960 display, 2MP seflie camera, and a 5MP primary unit. LTE is left out, however; it is only capable of HSPA+ data speeds, and it's all powered by a 2,000 mAh battery.

Check out the official statement from Kyocera:

"Many of us have let the fear of fragile phones constrain our lives while many other solutions are either budget busters, too bulky or lack the best Android smartphone experience. Hydro Life delivers everyday durability with the right design and feature set; while remaining very economical for cost-conscious households. Combined with fast, affordable 4G from the un-carrier, it's a big win for on-the-go consumers," declared Eric Anderson, senior VP and general manager of global sales and marketing at Kyocera Communications Inc.

If the Hydro Life is something that tickles your fancy then you'll be able to pick it up for $124.99 off-contract, and will be available for Metro PCS as well on August 29th.
