This is the last step before a handset enters mass production and aims to detect potential issues with the production cycle.

The report goes to explain that during the validation testing a small batch of iPhone 6 units are produced. They're used for fine tuning the assembly line and ensure top-notch quality. Combine it with the slew of leaked shells photos, TouchID button and Apple logo snaps and the only thing that we haven't actually seen is the A8 chip.

It wasn't hard to guess that Apple is going to start producing the iPhone 6 soon as the recently outed photos of the phone's assembled display. In fact, just today more iPhone 6 images have been leaked by Spigen. They depict a very slim profile, which was previously reported to be just 7mm.

Rumors have it the SoC will be made using a 20nm manufacturing process and be 64-bit, too. It's said to pack a 2GHz dual-core CPU and be made by TMSC and Samsung. The 4.7" sapphire display of the iPhone 6 will have a resolution of 960 x 1704 pixels and the whole phone is reported to weigh just 113 grams.

Apple is going to announce the iPhone 6 on September 9 and reports suggest the company has ordered between 70 million to 80 million units.
