David Crompton, chief constable of South Yorkshire Police, and Tony Hall were summoned to appear on September 2, the day after parliament returns from its summer recess. The parliamentary committee's chairman, Keith Vaz MP, announced the move on Friday evening.</p><br clear="all"/>
