Sony gives up on Xperia C, won't release any more updates for it

Now another smartphone joins the unfortunate list - the Sony Xpeia C.

The smartphone, which launched on Android 4.2 has only received two minor updates over its lifetime, bringing its platform version to Android 4.2.2. Now its official page on the Sony website says that this is the final Android release that the Xperia C will be receiving, so outside of some minor bug-fixing updates its support is over.



It's a real pity, considering that the Sony Xperia C was a pretty decent mid-range handset, which we really liked when we reviewed it in December last year. It has made numerous appearances in our smartphone shopping guide as well, but now that Sony officially considers it dead, it will certainly be dropping out for good.

Any disappointed Sony Xperia C owners out there? Or have you already upgraded to newer hardware?
