As you can see, these plainly state that during that event the next Droid-branded handset will be unveiled.

Furthermore, the carrier has recently reactivated its Droid Does website, which is currently counting down to October 28. So it's pretty clear that the oft-leaked Droid Turbo will finally get official in a couple of weeks.

Recently we saw the smartphone's manual making it to the Internet, and today a couple of press renders of the Droid Turbo have surfaced too, alongside yet another confirmation of its specs.

It will come with a 5.2-inch QHD (2,560x1,440) touchscreen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.65 GHz quad-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 21 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a huge 3,900 mAh battery. It will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat when it launches.

The body of the Turbo is apparently made out of scratch-resistant "metallized glass fiber", with a Kevlar-reinforced back panel and Gorilla Glass 3 on the screen. It's even splash-proof, being able to withstand everyday spills and survive in up to 20 minutes of downpour, a leaked marketing document reportedly says.
