By Roxanne Nelson (Reuters Health) ? Child-rearing practices and attitudes could be contributing factors when kids have chronic constipation issues, according to a new study from the Netherlands. "Stool-withholding and behavior problems are common in constipated children, and raising a child with chronic constipation is very challenging," said Marieke van Dijk, who led the study. "Parent-child interaction problems may easily occur which may further perpetuate the chronic constipation," van Dijk, a clinical psychologist at Emma Children?s Hospital in Amsterdam, told Reuter's Health by email. ...
