anyways if u r an xp user do these steps
1)go to control panel
2)enter sound or audio devices
3)click advanced for the devise volum option
4) search for mic volume
5)click it's advance button
6) look down at other controls
check what is the type of your mic if you dont know it should be on its box
if not then you have to do it by trail and error
check and un check the check boxes
make sure to try all combinations
keep the best combination that produces the best sound

try dfferant combinations of the check box
this will fix the software or what will the window provide
if that didnt work then this will be a hardware error it might be because of the plug where you put the mic outlet damaged i gues ti can be changed
finally the last solution which i can think of is that the mic input in your pc cant amplify the signals receaved from microphones a lot if this is the case then i would have to tell u to change the hardware

but first of all try fixing the error from the windows my messing around with the check boxes because 90% of the mic problems are solved by messing around the these check boxes

Please let me know if it works
