Almost Famous - Chus or Lose

Almost Famous - Chus or Lose
Almost Famous - Chus or Lose - Super Street Magazine
I've joked about it, but I never thought I'd leave Super Street and Project Car for good. I still remember the day Jonny brought me onboard and I was crammed into a cube with just a notepad. Staffers came and went like a soap opera cast, each one taking a little soul with them. Nads just left and Jonny took the reigns. Carter worked on five mags like a Jamaican while I headed Project Car. Now I must bid farewell.

To say that the past six years have been an experience would be an understatement. I've met more interesting people and visited crazier places than I could have ever imagined, sparked friendships I hope will last a lifetime and built some pretty sick cars in the process. Oh yeah, I also caused a bit of controversy now and then. These are memories that I will keep with me forever.

I wasn't here for the fame (definitely not for the money). We're not as famous as Yamz thinks. Sure, one out of every 10,000 people I come across recognizes me and sometimes even asks for an autograph, but that's it. I'm just a normal dude trying to make a difference by keeping you entertained with our common interests--cars and girls. I'd take 100 hate mails for one reader that writes in saying that I helped get them get through class, finish their car, or make a career choice with my stories. It means the world to me that I made a positive impact on young minds with my writing.

This is truly the most emotional editorial I've ever written and I'm fighting back the tears as I type. My ego wants my departure to put a dent on the magazine's readership, but my heart hopes it flourishes on. Is this the end of the Rikdaddy legacy? Definitely not, but it is the last chapter of this era. The end.
