How to move to a new page in Word? What is Page Break in MS Word?

Page break is something we use every time we use MS Word application to create a document. There are two types of page break namely Soft Break and Hard Break. In Word document page break is where one page ends and the next page starts. In MS Word, if you continue to type text into a document, then Word will automatically insert a page break if you have typed enough for one page and continue to type. If you continue to type then this text will be automatically moved to the next page and you can continue to type. This is called Soft Page Break. This type of page breaks will be adjusted automatically when we edit text in the document and get adjusted so that there is not blank space in between pages.

But in some cases we may need to manually goto a new page. In the current page we may have just a half page text. If you want to type the new line or the new paragraph in the next page then what some people usually do is to type 'Enter key' continuously until we reach the next page. This is a wrong method. Instead you should go to 'Insert-Break' option and in the menu choose
'Page Break' and click OK. The cursor will move to the next page automatically.

You can also use the shortcut by pressing Ctrl + Enter and break to a new page. This type of page break is called Hard Page break.
