Why is it when you go to get a glass of water after watching TV, and you go sit down the glass is already almost empty? thus destroying the point on getting a drink to sit down with..

Why is it when you get a can of soda (coke, cola etc) that the can goes away fast, but if you get a glass of the same amount it lasts longer.

why is it when you buy a 2 liter of soda it can last for days, but if you buy a 1 liter it can be gone in minutes.
