Title: What is Cpanel and WHM
Post by: dennis.wosten on May 22, 2006, 08:22:18 AM
 Hi All,

Cpanel (Control Panel) is a web-based administration tool mainly used by the end users. Cpanel has many functions that enable the users to create or delete their email accounts, upload files, manage Mysql databases etc. Cpanel is the most widely used control panel. By default Cpanel listens to port 2082.

WHM (Web Host Manager) is also similar to Cpanel. It is also used to manage the websites. The difference is that it is used to manage all the websites in a web server server. The end users have WHM. The functions in Cpanel are modified using WHM. By default WHM listens to port 2086.

Regards,
RJ
