Open Regedit by going to START - RUN and type Regedit and hit enter. Then you should navigate to following entry in registryHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. Highlight the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} folder in the left pane, delete the following two keys in the right pane."UpperFilters""LowerFilter"DELETE these two entries and restart your computer. If your DVD-RAM is supported by WINDOWS XP, this may work.
