Title: Windows Xp - Changing XP boot Screen

Here are the basics

1) get paint shop pro and 16.pal and win.pal
Boot files are in this zip

http://www.btinternet.com/~bolton64.family/pal.zip

2) find ntoskrnl.exe (should be in \windows\system32\) make a backup

3) open in reshacker (you should have this if you have been modding your logon screen)

4) extract bmp 1 open in paintshop pro load palette 16.pal (also make sure maintain indexes is checked )

5) picture should appear for editing (edit til your heart is content)

6) Now load palette win.pal (again make sure maintain index is checked ) picture should turn black again. save picture as 1.bmp

7) replace image with reshacker.

8) save ntoskernl.exe and boot into safe mode command prompt and replace file in \windows\system32\

9) reboot system, your new new bootlogo should appear..
