How to synchronize files between office and home?

It is very common these days to use computers both at office and at home. People often use the same files both at office and at home. While doing this, they store the same file in the office desktop as well as the home desktop or laptop (notebook) computer. Therefore the same file exists in more than one places. Consider this scenario: You have the same file in your notebook computer and your desktop. You change the file in your notebook and forgot to copy the latest version to your desktop. You endup losing valuable data and information. Worse still if you 'Save As' a different file name. This may give rise to more confusion. So how to solve this issue and maintain and synchronize different versions of the same file and always get the latest version of the file wherever you work.
The solution to all these problems is, 'Synchronization of files' Everyone needs this feature. Because using the same file in different computers is very common with most people.

In your office there is a file in two different computers. One computer has a new file and the other have the old file. But you want that both the computers should have the new file. There is no need to look in each of these computers to decide which is the new file. All you need to do is Synchronize these two computers and both computers will have the new file.

Likewise to make the files in many computers to have the latest data, you just need to synchronize the files in these computers. There are many applications available to do this. However, you do not have to search for these applications. Windows has inbuilt this facility.

Briefcase is one such utility that windows OS has right from Windows 95 onwards. 'Offline files' is another such utility that windows OS has from Windows 98 onwards.
