An alternative is to take the disk out and put it an external caddy, repartition it and place the Windows install files in a FAT partition and then put it back, boot into DOS and run setup - you can then install Windows to the other partition.

Running your own server is generally not recommended unless you have a very fast line (at least 10mbps up).

I recommend you stay with whichever shared hosting you are on at the moment.

Some people may recommend WAMP, XAMP or something similar.

If you are looking to start your own hosting company (buying the machines, the internet connection, a warehouse, etc) then you should probably Google for a website that deals with such issues.  If you just want to purchase a dedicated server, then there are hosts that can accomodate you.  If you want to buy a machine that can serve webpages, then at the least you'll have to get an expensive internet connection (usually a business plan) that can handle the necessary bandwidth, and you'll have to put together the necessary equipment.  Again, I would refer you to a website that deals with such issues.
Two reasons why this isn't a good idea:

- These products are made for testing only not for production servers

- XP has a hardcoded TCP connection limit of 10

If you are inexperienced on running a server, (and it seems so), I strongly suggest you not to do it on the internet. You may run an intranet on a small company for example, or not run a web server at all. Because you can't learn how securing and maintennance is done in a week. So you will get many attacks that you won't be able to struggle with.

But if you badly want to run your server, try looking around the tutorials on You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login ;)
