Hi,

I was using Windows Oncare but in the end got feedup with it. The virus program was  bad and it also slowed my machine down. So I unstalled it but was left with a problem. The backup feature of course did not delete the onecare backup files.

So I thought no problem just remove them manually. No way !! Eventually I found a way to do it, after much research on the Web.

So if you need a way hope these work for you.

By enabling file sharing and sharing the backup folder, it changed security properties and allowed me to delete it. Don?t forget to disable file sharing again after.

If Not....

Use the command line command that I had never heard of: cacls. This command can modify the Access Control List. It should be used like this to make the files under the Windows OneCare Backup directory eraseable.

cacls ?G:\Windows OneCare Backup? /t /g administrators:F

Here are a couple of things you should note:

G is the external drive letter. Change it to what your external drive is assigned to.
There must be a space between /t and /g.
Note that administrators is the group name, not administrator which is an account name
The F after the colon indicates Full Control. It is not a drive designation
?cacls? command will only work with NTFS formated disks

Lastly thanks to Microsoft for allowing me to pay for another substandard product which allowed quite some virus and adware to my machine and everything I had to do to cleanup.

Anyone else can share anything on this

??? :'( Hi my name is Jonah have been posting messages everywhere maybe I've got it right this time, don't know if I'll find the reply her goes.

I'm the newest old timer to all this torrent stuff and have spent hours if not days just trying to get the hang of it. Downloading all types of software etc.. just to get the right thing for what I thought would be very simple. It took me a total of 5 days to download the bionic woman and burn to DVD. My PC running constantly, the wife and kids complaining about the amount of time I spend on the PC. At 51 years of age I think this is very little.

Anyway cutting to the quick I'm looking for

1) Greys anatomy season 4

2) Honest UK tv series

3) Holby Blue

Sorry about the long list but at my current rate this will take anything up to 3 years to succeed.

Would appreciate any tips and advise to speed up what I'm trying to do. Really appreciate your time

Cheers - Jonah
