            Con Funk Shun is an R&B/Funk band that was formed in 1972. Its members were Micheal Cooper (lead vocals), Karl Fuller (trumpet) ,Paul Harrell (saxophone), Cedric Martin (bass guitar), the late Louis A. McCall (drums), Felton Pilate (trombone and lead vocals), and Danny Thomas (keyboards) who are from Vallejo, California. They got their start as a backup band for the group Soul Children, and were brought up by Stax Records in the early 1970s.
 
Their string of hit singles include 'Ffun' and 'Shake and Dance with Me' in 1978, 'Chase Me' in 1979, 'Got to Be Enough' in 1980, 'Too Tight' in 1981, 'Baby I'm Hooked Right Into Your Love' in 1983, 'Electric Lady' in 1985, 'I'm Leaving Baby' in 1985, 'Burning Love' in 1986, and 'She's A Star' in 1986. The band broke up after 1986, and Micheal Cooper embarked on a solo career. Con Funk Shun has a legacy where its songs are still played on R&B stations who play a 70s-80s Funk/Soul Format, and the beats of their songs have been sampled by current R&B and Hip-Hop artists.
