George Maharis gave up singing and moved to acting as a kid back in Astoria, NY after he worked his vocal cords too hard.

He later returned to crooning after his acting gigs were getting sparse.  He put out several LPs and had a dinner club act in Las Vegas.

wiki reports "Maharis remained a popular sex symbol and in July 1973 posed nude for Playgirl's second issue."

Today he is mostly retired from everything except his painting.
