So far I know this has worked on all forum systems.

This is an easy way to get around any autothings forums do, such as automatically turning you to Cheesy, etc. (there's the trick right there hehe)

Anyway, you can use this to avoid the  Cool smiley when you type 1), 2), 3), all the way to so that your list looks normal and not messed up by a little emoticon.

You can also use it to get around word filters, but beware, forum administrators put the word filters so that no one uses the word, so you may get in trouble for getting around it.

Enough on the uses, lets get down to how to do it.

Say you want to display instead of Smiley.

First, type out the full string that the forum would auto-recognize and change.



Next, you have to use a tag to break apart the string. Use a tag that is unnoticable and doesn't change anything. For example, at these Zeeblo Forums, the font is black. So by using a and tag, the text doesn't change whatsoever. You can also use size changes that don't make the size any different.
By placing a tag in between the word(s), the forum doesn't recognize a broken, split up word, and therefore won't automatically change it.

Now, you have to make sure part of the text is in between the tag. Since there are only two letters...
