Register or Login<p>We almost got away with having a mild summer as far as temperature goes (at least in LA), but out of nowhere, the driest and hottest heat to hit came on the one day we could've done without it at the annual Nisei Showoff. For the JDM purists-and we're speaking on behalf of those who are reppin' Hondas, Nissans, Subes, the whole nine yards-this is where dust covers are pulled off and engines are turned over from months of rest so that they can be polished off to a brilliant shine. It's a long-standing tradition where the best of the best come to parlay and is consequently one of the hardest shows to win, considering the company you're with. In the immortal words of every guy who's wanted to ball me up, it's the proverbial, "You better bring your A-game, 'cause it's gonna be raining threes!" scene.</p>
