The Christchurch Earthquake: New Zealand’s “Darkest Day” (Photo)

While the death toll at the time of this writing was at 75 confirmed, it was certain to grow as several hundred people were missing. According to the New Zealand Herald, "Police say more than 100 people may have been lost in Christchurch's quake-ravaged Canterbury TV building, which they say is 'unsurvivable'." In addition, some 80% of the residents did not have access to water.
