Autocar reports that chief engineer Ted Klaus indicated the hyper hybrid will represent "the excitement of the 458 at the price of the 911." He elaborated by saying: "The NSX has never been about a set of figures on a piece of paper... the eventual power figure won't grab headlines, for instance, but the qualities that you can't write down, such as driver involvement and pleasure, are the ones that will matter." We have been on the leading edge of the car's emergence since we heard scant rumblings that the iconic NSX moniker could live again some three to four years ago. The car made its first meaningful progress at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show and we should see production cars, replete with the mid-ship V6 driving the rear wheels and twin electric motor front drive just like we first hinted at on dealer lots in calendar year 2015. It should be noted that 2013 Porsche 911s range from $84,300 for a Carrera to $181,100 for a Turbo S to $193,000 for a Turbo S Cabriolet.
