It is amongst the eight teams that are included in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. They play in Milwaukee wearing green and purple colored uniforms. They were established in January of 1968 and debuted in October of the same year against opponents Chicago Bulls. The present owner of the team is the U.S. Senator Herb Kohl. To date the Bucks have one NBA Championship title,You are not allowed to view links. They recorded their win against the Detroit Pistons at a score134–118. It was a first of the 26 games they won in their first year. Owing to their record they were provided with a coin flip against another expansion team i.e. the Phoenix Suns. The Bucks luckily won'the flip and had to win another bid against ABA to acquire Lew Alcindor of UCLA.They won'their first championship title in April 1971 after they defeated opponents Baltimore Bullets in the fourth game at a score of 18-106. They are the only expansion team to have won a major championship so soon after its debut. The team was bought in 1985 by a local businessman Herb Kohl owing to the fear that an outsider investor might buy it and relocate it from Milwaukee. In 2003 considerations of selling the team were again brought to forefront. But an official announcement by the owner brought these speculations to an end. He made the decision of keeping the team and not selling it to Michael Jordan. To date he is the owner of the team. Starting in 1971-72 the team made three straight playoff appearances. 1971-1972 season also saw star player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who was formerly Alcindor, successfully bagged his 2nd consecutive scoring title and the MVP award.  The Bucks were defeated in the conference Finals by opponents the Los Angeles Lakers. Abdul-Jabbar continued to give outstanding performances and bagged his 3rd MVP award in 1973-1974 season. It was his performance that led the team to the 1974 NBA Finals against opponents the Bolton Celtics. The Celtics managed to win seven games in the series that is considered amongst the most noteworthy games in the history of NBA. In the late 80s and the early 90s the Bucks recorded four straight winning seasons making it to the playoffs once. In 2004-2005 season the bucks were faced with several injuries and failed to make it to the playoffs. Inspite of a very bleak chance they got the first pick in the NBA Draft Lottery. This pick was utilized for the acquisition of Andrew Bogut. Some of the players presently playing in the team are Ervin Johnson,You are not allowed to view links.
