We have three questions today that cover response rates and affiliate programs.
Question #1: What is the industry norm for response rate for offers made to email list members?
Answer: Good question. The answer is that it depends. For example, it depends on the price point. I would say 1 to 1.5% is probably norm. However,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, I don't know what the offer is and the structure of the list. Some people see more than 1.5% and some see a rate less than 1%. I have to give an open ended answer because it really depends on a lot of different factors.
Question #2: Affiliate Programs - I have used affiliate finding software called Affiliate Elite. I found the super affiliates promoting the top selling health products at Click Bank. Do I email or phone asking to promote my book? Any tips you could provide would be helpful.
Answer: You did your affiliate research and found people that would be great possible joint venture partners using a software program. I would highly recommend that you change your thinking. I would highly suggest signing up for the potential affiliates' programs first and selling their stuff to your list. Essentially, you are doing for them what you want them to do for you. This gives you more leverage and respect when you approach potential affiliates.
This method enables you to tell them that you are promoting their products and that you also would like them to promote yours. You can call or email them to ask them to work on a promotion with you. They will be more inclined to say "yes" because you have demonstrated that you took the initiative to do something for them first. They won't feel like you are just trying to use them.
If the affiliates don't answer or say "no" to your request then keep on trying. Find more ways to help them out and build a relationship with you. Perhaps after they get to know you they will be more likely to work with you. Think about how you would react to somebody that wanted you to be their affiliate. You would want to know and trust them,You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, right?
Question #3: I have noticed some new products coming out with awesome affiliate programs to help their promotion. I have five book cover images to give. The book has its own website and sales page. Should I offer a duplicate "my site page" for their use?
Answer: I wouldn't deal with any of that. Just focus on what you have going on. Mail for them first and then ask them to mail for you. You are making things too complicated. Keep it simple.
