NIH Halts Trial of HIV Vaccine After it Fails to Work

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) have been forced to halt a study involving a potential vaccine for HIV, after finding that it was ineffective. In a statement regarding the decision on Thursday, the NIH stated that the vaccine also proved ineffective at reducing the amount of HIV found in the blood of those already infected.
