<p>By the time you read this, my super-JDM rock band will have finished its first ever tour of Japan. after years of toiling around los angeles' dirtiest rock clubs, we finally got the opportunity to play in some of Japan's finest live houses. No more crappy sound and broken monitors; we'll finally have pro gear, pro sound guys, pro lighting... the works. there's a bunch of other cool stuff associated with this tour, but I'll spare you the details for now. You didn't pick up this magazine to hear me ramble on and on about a Japan tour.</p><p>OK... just a couple more sentences. While the tour is still more than two months away as I write this, can say with certainty that it kicked all sorts of ass. Playing rock 'n roll is always awesome, but doing so in a country with some of the most enthusiastic music fans in the world is even better. to say that I'm really looking forward to this adventure would be an understatement.</p><p>"But Justin," you're likely asking aloud to this printed page, "how can you balance the busy life associated with magazine editing and still find the time to fly half way across the world to hit things with sticks?" the answer is: I can't. so although I love being a part of my all-time favorite car magazine, I've got to leave to pursue the rock 'n' roll dream. Maybe I can find someone crazy enough employ me despite the fact I'll always be out of the country for weeks at a time...</p><p>No mushy good-byes here; just a sincere thanks to everyone here at super street for letting me be part of the family these past few months, and a thanks to all of you out there in reader-land for letting me rant. If you ever see me out, buy me a beer: playing drums doesn't exactly pay a lot...
