Freddie Mac loss widens less than feared
      

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Freddie Mac, the second-biggest provider of funding for U.S. residential mortgages, posted a slightly wider first-quarter loss on Wednesday as credit losses deepened and said it would raise capital to expand its business.
