United Technologies makes bid for Diebold
      

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Manufacturer United Technologies
Corp  said on Sunday it made an unsolicited bid to
acquire Diebold Inc after trying to hold merger talks with the
maker of automatic teller machines for more than two years.
